The little match and the sunflower
The little match falls in love with the sunflower.
The sunflower, whose every morning slowly blooms,
and under the sunlight it shines,
truly lovely beyond words can say.
The beautiful sunflower, however,
never looked at the little match.
Not even for a tiny glance at its way.
The poor little match keeps its love just alone,
more and more it loves the sunflower,
for every single day.
Since the sunflower turns and looks only to the sun.
The little match made up its mind,
lights up itself and sets itself to fire.
Wishes to make a tiny golden light,
without fear to die.
The little match made up its mind,
lights up itself and brightens itself with its little fire.
Wishes the sunflower might look at its way,
once for a short single while.
The little match brightly shines with its enlightened mind,
but only for a short while.
The amber sunflower then turns to look at...
… and found no one but only match's ashes…
that left behind after the fire.
The lonely little match has had so much love in its mind.
Only she turned to see,
only she gave a tiny look with her sight…
was already greater than its desire.
Since the flower turns and looks only to the sun.
The little match made up its mind,
Lights up itself and sets itself to fire.
Wishes to make a tiny golden light,
without a fear to die.
The little match made up its mind,
Lights up itself and for love it sacrifices.
Just wishes the sunflower might look at its way,
just once…
for a short precious single while.
